Service

I am proud to support my university and the information science field through invited and volunteered service and public outreach. Highlights include:

• I am on the editorial boards of ARIST and ACM Journal on Responsible Computing. For ASIS&T I have chaired and juried numerous awards, served on the European Chapter and SIG-HFIS, and wrote a Member Spotlight.
• I am currently consulting on the EU Fundamental Rights Agency’s project Assessing high-risk artificial intelligence. Previously I advised on a report for the Dutch Government about the responsibilities of online intermediaries in the EU Digital Services Act.
• I have co-organised conferences, tracks, and workshops. Within my department I organise the doctoral colloquiua and progress reviews, serve on the dept council, and represent the department to the iSchools.
